Communications Warrant Tracking
Communications is comprised of professionally trained civilians operating 24/7 to provide services and execute duties in a timely manner. Their first priority is providing a communication link for our Deputies working in field services through dispatch and other related services. They operate many computer systems by providing law enforcement information as it relates to inquiries from Deputies and other law enforcement agencies. Their second priority is to provide or perform other duties as it relates to arrest processes issued by Gaston County Court System and the Magistrate’s Office. The North Carolina eWarrants computer system has streamlined the ease of printing original criminal paperwork and tracking processes that are issued by all North Carolina Judicial Counties. All electronic criminal processes issued by Gaston County Judicial System are received by Communications Warrant Tracking Personnel. Personnel review and forward to the jurisdictional law enforcement agencies throughout Gaston County and North Carolina that is responsible for law enforcement services.
All full-time Communication Personnel are required each year to receive in-service training through the North Carolina Justice Academy. Personnel are also certified by Sheriff’s Training and Standards as Telecommunicators which is a state requirement. Besides the required training, personnel receive other training and certifications as it relates to their job responsibilities to enhance their skills and knowledge of the ever changing environment.
